Dean Harrington
I’ve been teaching guitar for more than 25 years and am taking new students 7 years to adult. I’m primarily a guitarist, but I also teach ukulele, electric bass, theory and improvisation, and am glad to work with students to learn the style of music that interests them. I enjoy teaching all levels, from total beginner to advanced, and encourage anyone who has always wanted to play an instrument to give it a try — it’s fun and it’s never too late. I’m always open to discussing any questions or concerns you may have about lessons, my teaching style, how to choose an instrument, etc. Parents are encouraged and welcome to sit in on lessons anytime.
I have a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Minnesota and was a first-place winner in the Schubert Club scholarship competition. I still play classical guitar for my own enjoyment, but these days I mostly perform jazz with my own bands Dean Harrigton Trio and Mill City Hot Club and as a side-musician with several local jazz groups. I post gigs regularly on Facebook and you can check out my solo guitar work at my YouTube page located on my website below.Live Music located in IMS Atrium

My work seeks to capture the unique interplay of color, light and place. I am drawn to the way natural environments shift and change with the light, how color is transformed throughout the day and how each scene holds its own sense of time and atmosphere. Through my paintings, I aim to convey the emotion and energy of these places, inviting viewwer to pause and experience the beauty and serenity that I find in the world around us. My goal is to create a visual connection between the viewer and the landscape offering a moment of reflection and deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Dan Raphael
My painting provides a sort of relief valve. As I work to achieve mindfulness, I find painting a very natural avenue for seeking it out. The world is so rife with demands to our attention that try to define our happiness. I prefer to define these things myself. I keep a journal, but additionally, I see my paintings as their own sort of “journal entry”. I depend on it. Progeny.
The art of taking three-dimensions and expressing them in two dimensions has always fascinated me. I began as a child with margin sized figures done with pencil, I found that the emotive expression in the work was of more importance to me than detailed illustration, and as I explored different mediums, I loved the movement of oil paint. My subjects are derived from design and fashion history. and nature around me. From that, my artistic license varies with each subject. I don’t start out having a need to portray a specific feeling, but as the work moves along, I try to embrace a sense of freedom. I let it complete itself. My present style has a rapport from my use of watercolor early in my career. In the transition, I found it comforting to continue this stylistically with the oil.
If I put my adventure in words, I would describe it as the interaction between formality and play. Use of whimsey, vying for perceived detail.

My work captures and reveals the patterns and textures of my rural landscape. Each piece chronicles the seasonal cycles of growth and decay, as observed through a carpet of leaves in the woods or the contours of a freshly plowed field, serving as a reminder that our environment is constantly changing, yet resilient.
As a trained journalist, I view my ceramic work as a record of interactions with my surroundings and the impacts of pivotal family relationships. My mother was an accomplished seamstress and musician. At an early age I became intrigued by the designs of the patterns and fabrics she used. My own studies of music imprinted a sense of cadence and harmony. My father was an exuberant craftsman in many disciplines, who taught me to appreciate the beauty of good design, such as the Airstream trailer and an anvil storm cloud. These influences have made their way into my work.Hosted by: CFG - Suite 50

Duane Ditty
“I see painting as a very physical act, and my paintings as a direct example of the creative process, containing within them the record of their realization and implementation. I am interested in separating my work from the imposing forces of commercial signification, from the things that attempt to undermine indeterminate meaning.
My work offers a reprieve from cluttered spaces and relentless action. Art, I believe, is separate from day-to-day existence. Art is a representation of thought without the necessity of explicit function. My work retains distance from the noise of the outside world and allows for a contemplative respite. My paintings invite the viewer to relate on an intuitive and spontaneous level; without irony or jest they manifest a gravity and beauty often absent in our daily lives.”

Geri Erickson
My name is Geri…I was a CFO in my previous life, and am currently a Mandala Artist and creator of Center Peace Art. Initially I was so drawn to this art form, I just knew I needed to learn more about it…how to create this beautiful art. While painting, I learned that my typically very busy mind got very quiet, much needed quiet. Mandalas are a sacred symbol used in meditation, healing and prayer. Every mandala is unique and hand painted and no two are identical. Each comes from a flow state of allowing the mandala to unfold and become what it is meant to be. Creating mandalas has truly brought me peace at the center of who I am.

Jill Michell
Jill Michell received a BFA in painting from the University of Minnesota. She works in a charming backyard studio, outside her home in St. Paul's Tangletown. Jill's botanical work suggests Chinese painting, given the delicacy of gesture, and the space afforded the figures. She's fascinated by process and the wonder of fluency in a time when the world is starved for it. And yet, she recalls Philip Guston's notion that "painting is more than a process, painting is being possessed". Along with numerous gallery shows, Jill's work has been featured at the Groveland Gallery, the Katherine Nash Gallery, and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She received her MA in Art Education from the University of MN and has been a Teaching Artist in the Twin Cities for 20 years.

Lynn Tanaka
I find strong personal connections to the idea of collecting. Objects that - by physical identity, texture, pattern or color - represent my theories and observations about life concepts. The foundation of my work revolves around collecting appreciation and motivation from my observation of nature. I see nature as the ultimate artist. From its forms and color palettes to its functions; everything that nature produces is used as a motivational tool to create and expand on my artistic output.

Mademoiselle Miel
Like many of the ingredients we use, our brand has a single origin. Mademoiselle Miel was born when beekeeper and chocolatier Susan Brown began creating Honey Bon-bons by using honey from her rooftop hives and encasing it in 100% single origin, organic cacao.
Inspired by the desire to create exquisite sensory experiences that honor unrefined elements and flavors found in the natural world, Susan launched a brand and opened a storefront in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in April 2011.
Since then, new flavors and products have been created, garnering awards and accolades, including being named a Top 10 Chocolatier in North America - the first chocolatier ever to be awarded in that regard for using unsweetened chocolate.

Since 1996 I have been teaching art to children and adults at The Art Academy in Saint Paul, MN. I taught art to kindergarten through eighth grades at Holy Family Academy in St. Louis Park, MN for eleven years. Megan Aber
Through bold geometry, optical illusion, and symbolic imagery, my work investigates perception, transformation, and the tension between order and chaos. Utilizing high-contrast patterns and surreal figuration, I create visual spaces that challenge depth and orientation while invoking themes of mortality, duality, and mysticism. Whether abstract or representational, each piece invites viewers to step into a shifting psychological landscape—part meditative, part disorienting.

Nancy Grist
The artwork I make is reflective of the centered pursuit of a unified body and mind; dynamic yet quiet, strong and soft, hopeful. I explore ideas of balance, strength of center, and connection through form and color expression. I am curious about a calm mind in service of our physical beings-- freeing my own body in this world, my hands in the process, and the body of this work.

Natasha D'Schommer
I believe discovery happens over and over again. I first started photographing rare books in 1993 – this is when I got hooked on taking pictures of pictures, making new pictures from hand writing, musical sketches, marginalia, and the small, richly preserved paintings of illuminators. In my work I have met with great collectors and tried my best to enter into the unique world each collection creates. I usually feel like I am on a treasure hunt, that I am uncovering valuable images that have their own longing to be seen and to be relevant today. For my photography there is no better landscape for this discovery process than the library.

Peter Ross
Peter Ross is the author and illustrator of the children’s picture book Uh-Oh! We’ve Got Birds!
Peter grew up in the quiet, little town of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, and spent much of his childhood exploring nature, delighting in all the animals that dwell there. At an early age he started painting, taking inspiration from nature, and using his imagination to give each piece a life of its own. His art can be whimsical and childlike with creative undertones that tell a story. Each piece is like a seed that sprouts and blossoms differently for each viewer. For Peter, the next step seemed obvious, he wanted to write and illustrate entire children’s picture books. That is what he has done, and he absolutely loves it. Peter lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota with his wife Leslie. They have two grown children, and lovely grandchildren.
